OKTO Inspo: Opera House
What You’ll Need:
- White OKTO clay
- Cream OKTO clay
- A rolling pin or a smooth round object for rolling
- Sculpting tools or a small knife
- A flat working surface
Steps to Create Your OKTO Clay Opera House:
1. Roll Your White Clay: Start by rolling out a piece of white clay to create a smooth, even surface.
2. Mix the Clay: Blend a small amount of cream clay with white clay to achieve the signature colour of the Opera House.
3. Form the Base Shape: Roll the mixed clay into a double-sided cone shape, saving a pea-sized amount of clay for later.
4. Press Flat: Flatten the cone shape to create an oval.
5. Divide the Oval: Split the oval into four equal quarters.
6. Sculpt Each Quarter: Take each quarter and sculpt it to create the characteristic bend and curve, with the end leading to a point.
7. Miniature Version: Use the remaining clay to make a miniature version of the quarters.
8. First Quarter: Position one of the larger quarters pointing to the left.
9. Overlap and Stick: Take another quarter and stick it on the first, overlapping the last third of it, with the point facing the same direction.
10. Repeat: Repeat the process one more time with the third quarter.
11. Flip the Final Quarter: Attach the last quarter, but this time flip it so the point faces the opposite direction.
12. Add the Mini Sail: Place the miniature sail in front of the final quarter, pointing in the same direction as the others.
13. Form the Base: Use any colour clay to create a base for your sculpture. This will help to hide any joint marks and uneven edges, giving your Opera House a polished look.
